About Me
Hi everyone! My name is Evelyn Schoahs. I’m 20 years old and currently in my third year of psychology with a minor in education. I have two more years until graduation, and my goal is to become a disability counselor working with elementary school students. I moved to Victoria for school in 2023 and have been here ever since. I’m originally from Squamish, a small town on the mainland between Vancouver and Whistler. In my (completely unbiased!) opinion, Squamish is one of the most beautiful towns, surrounded by forests and mountains. Growing up there gave me a strong love for the outdoors, so I’ve always enjoyed activities like biking, downhill skiing, and hiking. I’m happy that living in Victoria allows me to continue doing these things in such a lovely environment. I live in the Gordon Head area, close to Arbutus Cove, which means I also get to enjoy quick access to the beach! I’ve worked in the service industry since I was 14, so about six years now, and I’ve done everything from dishwashing to serving. At the moment, I work at a restaurant in downtown Victoria as both a server and a host. Next summer, though, I’m hoping to try something completely new, like tree planting or working at a summer camp. I am genuinely excited for my third year here at UVic. I quite enjoy going to school and being in an academic routine. Studying psychology and education has been super fun and fascinating for me, and I can not wait to continue. I always love a project-based class, so I am excited to see how this one goes! Thanks for reading a little bit about me, and I am excited to meet you guys
